It began at a kitchen table.It became a culture of excellence.

In 1996 it became necessary for one missionary family, in refuge from war, to provide foundational academic preparation for their own three children at home. There was no name, no building and no budget — only a curriculum and the conviction that these children should not lose their education to the fighting.

The school obtained its first operational permit in 2000 and added one more child. By 2003 it had grown into two buildings of oil-palm straw and tarpaulins, serving 114 children. In August 2008 the permanent 18-classroom campus opened, its grand opening graced by the President of Liberia. The first four twelfth-grade graduates walked in 2011.

Kingdom Foundation Institute, Inc. was incorporated in 2021 as a Not-for-Profit Corporation in Montserrado County. Its educational services continue to include a model K–12 education — and, increasingly, the training of other people's teachers.
